The Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP) is pleased to announce its participation in the PROTECHMED project, a transnational initiative dedicated to promoting sustainable, digital, and eco-innovative solutions for protected agriculture in the Mediterranean region.

PROTECHMED aims to support the adoption of innovative technologies that improve water and energy efficiency, strengthen digital skills, and enhance the competitiveness of horticultural stakeholders. Through cooperation between research institutions, public bodies, and agricultural organizations, the project will contribute to building a more resilient and sustainable agricultural sector.

Within the project, UTAP will play an active role in the implementation of activities in Tunisia, including the follow-up of pilot actions, participation in training and knowledge-sharing sessions, and support for the transfer of good practices to farmers and agricultural stakeholders.

UTAP will also contribute to the development of practical tools and business models adapted to the needs of horticultural producers, especially small and medium-sized farms.
This partnership reflects UTAP’s commitment to supporting Tunisian farmers, encouraging innovation in the agricultural sector, and promoting solutions that respond to current environmental and economic challenges.

By joining PROTECHMED, UTAP reinforces its role as a key actor in regional cooperation and agricultural modernization, with the goal of fostering a more sustainable future for Tunisian horticulture.
